Due to changing servers the last time, and not liking 123-REG hosting package, the website was shelved for a while due to other projects.

Having a bit of time on my hands, and it being one of the busiest months for holiday bookings, it was decided to relaunch this domain.

The website has been set up with Affilistore and is a product feed driven website due to time constraints and the fact that this is our first real trial of the American hosting company Host Monster.

The domain name is registered with 123 Reg which is a UK company, and nameservers pointing to our American Hosting.

The main aim of the launch is to see which Google search engine this gets listed into, and to how far it gets.

Around 12,000 people search for fancey dress, rather than fancy dress, so hopefully this might pick up a bit of business in the future.

We decided upon Host Monster which is a sister site of Blue Host and paid £100.00 for two years of webhosting.

This smashes our current £100.00 per month hosting bill with 1&1 (one and one) and hopefully Google will be fair on us, currently the domain has dropped down to 5th page from 4th, but this might be because of the small downtime that was experienced while changing from 1&1 to 123-Reg for domain registration.

We completed the name servers this morning, so now everything is pointing to our USA hosting company.

If this fails to produce results, then the free domain name which is a dot com, will be used to try and capture some of the American market, and hopefully within the two years, make the £100.00 back that was spent on hosting.

This Christmas hottest toys are the FurReal range of pets, so the domain is based around that.

Currently only two pages are completed but with less than two weeks before Christmas, it was deemed a good idea to get this into search engines as fast as possible.

This was the dot org version, so it was decided to take a chance on this domain and to launch it for both the UK and USA fancy dress markets.

The site currently uses Wordpress blogging software, as this has a mixture of good and bad results, but with Christmas and the New Year fast approaching, then time is limited as more time is taken to wind down and plan for 2009.

The site was again using the Price Tapestry price comparison script which in my honest view is a pile of rubbish and not worth the money just incase you are thinking of buying it.

Again a basic HTML website was put in it’s place and a relaunch of the domain name, and hopefully better coverage from Google and other search engines.

With the fast approaching Christmas and renewal dates coming up in 2009 sorting the wheat from the chaff is critical, especially with the credit crunch, large portfolio’s of domains and trying to do too much is to yesterday for me.
